CACPT seeks nominations of
individuals to stand for
election to its National
Board of Directors
Please note the deadline
for nominations: March 31, 2011
Background:
The CACPT Board of Directors
is the organization's
national governing body. It
comprises 11 directors who
are elected and allowed to
serve successive terms. Any
current member of CACPT may
stand for election to one of
the 11 seats. The Board will
serve as the Nominations
Committee and will develop a
list of candidates to be
presented to the membership
of CACPT. Members in good
standing will elect the 11
directors from a list
presented. The list will
consist of current Board
members eligible and willing
to stand for re-election and
individuals not currently
serving on the Board but who
are nominated by CACPT
members,
or themselves.
Board membership requires a
dedicated commitment of time
- approximately ten to
fifteen days per year - and
dependable availability to
attend meetings and
undertake activities on
CACPT's behalf throughout
the term of office. In
addition, personal efforts
to help cover costs of board
participation are expected
in the first year. Every
effort will be made to
create a budget that will
include funding for travel
to meetings for the Board of
Directors in the future and
as the funds allow.
Selection
Criteria:
In selecting nominees, the
current Board of Directors

-
possess
relevant specialized
knowledge and / or
skills; and,
-
have
demonstrated an active
commitment to CACPT's
mission, vision, values
and programmes.
The
Nominations Committee will
also consider CACPT's needs
for a Board that
collectively is:
-
broadly

CACPT's national reach
and geographic
-
diversity;
